Salt of the Earth Vegan Natural Deoderant

I'm not going to lie, the one thing I've struggled with since going vegan 3 years ago has been finding a good anti-perspirant. None of them have been quite as effective as I would like, and have left me feeling a little on the yucky side. I finally decided to give Salt of the Earth a try, after hearing lots of good things, and I'm so very glad I did!

Salt of the Earth deodorant is all natural, vegan and cruelty free, and doesn't contain any aluminium or other nasties! Plus, whilst it's labelled as deodorant, it actually works as an anti-perspirant, and provides lasting freshness whilst remaining gentle on the skin. It also comes in spray form, rather than as an aerosol, giving it extra eco-points! I was lucky enough to spot a bottle in my local holistic shop, The Village Herbarium, so picked up the Vanilla and Lavender fragrance for £5.99. This is a little more than I'd usually like to spend, but after seeing how effective it is, it's worth it.

I've found that Superdrug's women's anti-perspirant isn't very effective at all, and always left me feeling sweaty and pretty unpleasant fairly quickly. For months now, I've been using Superdrug men's anti-perspirant which was much better, but still not perfect after long days of work or a night out, and just doesn't smell as nice to start with. It was really important to find something long-lasting and pleasant smelling after so long searching!

Salt of the Earth Vanilla and Lavender is a delightful, light, fresh yet sweet scent, and I fell in love at first spritz. The scent is definitely magical, as it seems to give a fresh, peppy feeling in the morning, and yet gives a gentle, relaxed vibe after an evening shower. I know that makes little sense, so you'll have to trust me on this one! It's also incredibly effective, and stood the two big tests - a busy day at work and cleaning the guinea-pig cage. I'm usually a sweaty mess after either activity, yet after using Salt of the Earth, I'm still shower-fresh even after being elbow deep in guinea pig poop for 45 minutes! Another bonus is that it's incredibly gentle on my sensitive skin, and since using it, I've not had any shaving bumps on my armpits.

Salt of the Earth is definitely going to be a regular purchase of mine, and the search for an effective, vegan, and gentle anti-perspirant is finally over! I'd wholeheartedly recommend trying them out, whether you're looking for something better for sensitive skin, something more eco-friendly, or something vegan. Salt of the Earth takes the crown!

  1. This deodorant sounds really fab, however, having lavender in it is a big no-no for me as I'm allergic sadly. Great review darling. πŸŒΈπŸ’œ

    1. That's such a shame! They do sell other fragrances and unfragranced options! x
