I've been keeping a close eye on the progress of the new Lush store, and as someone who lives in Liverpool and loves ethical beauty, it's all been incredibly exciting! I was so thrilled when it was announced to be the largest Lush store in the whole world, right here in my city. Every new reveal had me buzzing with anticipation, so you can only imagine my joy when an email landed in my inbox asking me to come along to the grand opening. My giddy excitement aside, Lush have truly bowled me over!

Lush Liverpool is set across 3 whole floors of sheer awe. If Willy Wonka made skincare and designed a department store, it wouldn't be at all dissimilar. The perfect blend of modern glamour, vintage timelessness, botanical freshness, and spaceship curiosity makes every nook and cranny a feast for the eyes. Add in the smells, interactive elements, and carefully curated music and sounds, and Lush Liverpool is truly a delight for all senses.

This store is beyond heaven for people who appreciate good visual merchandising. From beautifully positioned plant life, to artfully stacked pyramids of bath bombs, every inch is simply gorgeous. However, the extra details, exclusive to Lush Liverpool, are what truly makes the entire building special. There is colour and movement everywhere you look, including a revolving sushi conveyor of bath bombs, and giant shower jellies that you can slap to make drum sounds - very satisfying! Cases of expertly sculpted FUN art adorn the middle floor, along with brilliant space-age shelving housing bath bombs, and revolving platforms of haircare. Throughout the store, there are wonderful little nods to Liverpool, including themed products and delightful use of scouse dialect, like the sign inviting one for a 'bevy'. What truly touches my heart, is the focus on ethics and signs showing it off proudly. Lush has such a huge audience, and I know some very important seeds will be planted through their emphasis on ethics across the shop floor.

Adding to the gorgeous department store vibes are several beautiful counters. As you enter, you're immediately greeted by a florist, sourced predominantly with local flora. Explore further and you'll find the world's only Lush Hairdresser - so brilliant that you can even choose between mineralised and demineralised water depending on your hair's needs. Getting exhausted from shopping? Grab a pick me up from the sweet little coffee stand, and have a rest in the cosy corner of vinyls, tucked peacefully at the back. Take a leisurely moment in their perfume library; comfortable, fascinating, and home to the UK's largest collection of perfume books, used and selected by their own perfumer!

The opening event itself was as whimsical and enchanting as one would expect from Lush. Greeted by a wonderful live band playing in a quaint bandstand outside, I entered the buzzing of the store to discover anthropomorphised bath bombs, each character as bombastic (pardon the pun!) and individual as the last! There were so many demonstrations I hardly knew where to look - showing off the hair salon, new products, and making face masks to name a few. Staff were on hand to answer questions and to give tours of the spa, which was a marvel in itself.

Having visited and adored the original Lush Liverpool Spa, the new spa, the largest in the world, utterly bowled me over. It is, quite simply, an oasis of peace, floating above the excitement below. Stroll through glass doors into a sanctuary, rich with botany and the delicate sounds of birdsong. Whilst there is a fabulous new party space on the middle floor, the spa is also equipped to handle larger groups, with an array of plush seating in gorgeous hues, and treatment rooms capable of catering to 2, 3, and 5 people simultaneously. The treatment rooms have had an update, with expertly positioned mood lighting, and the bathrooms feature a gorgeous selection of Lush products to use as you emerge from your relaxation.

On the subject of Lush products, Lush Liverpool was a cornucopia of exciting news! I was beyond ecstatic to discover that Ultrabland now has a sister, Ultraplant! The much-loved cleanser now has a vegan version, and I for one, cannot wait to try it out! The range of naked products is now absolutely huge for all of the zero-waste lovers out there, as is the range of toothy tabs. I'm super jealous that my teeth need fluoride, because some of those flavours look so fun! If you're a beauty addict like me, then you'll go wild for the new makeup range, and there's even more to come. The range of lipstick colours and foundation shades are just fabulous. As if all of this wasn't enough to get giddy over, Lush have upped the anti on their 'Against Animal Testing' merchandise, and eliminated egg from all of their products! I'm in love! I also managed to pick up a copy of their new magazine, The Lush Times, filled with fascinating articles on ethical living and product production.

Lush Liverpool is such a happy place to visit, even if you don't have money to spend. The sights, sounds, scents, and interactive elements make it a playground for those who love ethical, natural skincare. I'm so proud that Lush chose my city to house their biggest, move innovative store yet, and I'm so excited to see what's to come.
